Who knew tahini could be so much fun?
Now here's a good idea. Take some delectable Levantine dishes, serve them in a stylishly designed Soho fast food place, and what have you got? Hummus Bros.
The menu's brief, but perfectly executed.
The eponymous chickpea and tahini purée, flavoured with garlic and lemon juice, comes with a choice of four toppings: the puréed fava bean version was ambrosial, lightly smoked and soon polished off with scoops of a warm pitta bread. The side dishes were also excellent, such as the tabouleh, a bulgar wheat salad zinging with the flavours of fresh coriander, mint and parsley. Service is chipper, and there are Innocent drinks or espresso-based coffees on offer.
